Elena Medvedeva is a Russian artist from St. Petersburg.
Her works are characterized by sensuous and biomorphic forms, inspired by the nature of the human body. Elena’s sculptures are abstract images of bodily lines and curves. “Thus, I do not copy nature – I create under her impression.”
Having previously worked as a designer Elena always created with minimalism and simplicity as her main focus. The principles of minimalism can still be traced in her sculptures today: “I am always in search of a laconic form and a simple visual solution.”
“It is important to me that the finished objects can be not only viewed, but also touched. Tactile experience is as important as visual experience in the perception of my work.”
