Adriana Jiménez

Mexican artist Adriana Jiménez creates her artistic language through her abstract artworks assembled like puzzles with a multitude of solutions.

“I explore the power of repetition and how it can lead me to stillness of the mind,” she explains. Jiménez starts by creating a gestural painting which she then cuts into pieces and reassembles into a grid, creating a new work that is simultaneously simple and complex.

“There is so much beauty and freedom in possibilities. I feel inspired by internal processes in my personal life. And as in life itself, the paintings transform through each stage until they reach a point where they feel calm and organised.”
